My Favorite Event of the Year Is Coming Up

By Dr. Steve Sjuggerud
Thursday, May 26, 2016

The stakes were high.

I had the speaking slot between Ron Paul and Penn Jillette...

Ron was already a hero to the audience. And I knew that Penn would deliver one of the most captivating performances of the entire event.

What could I possibly offer the crowd? Heck, I was just honored to be there...

I was on stage at the Stansberry Conference event at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas last year.

It's my favorite event of the year.

I love it because it's a chance to interact with some of the world's most interesting people...

Past speakers have included billionaire T. Boone Pickens, Tesla co-founder J.B. Straubel, legendary speculator Jim Rogers, big-wave surfer Laird Hamilton, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and satirical writer P.J. O'Rourke.

The goal of these events is to introduce you to new big ideas AND the incredible people behind them.

This year's conference is coming up in September. Ron Paul will be back, along with Porter Stansberry, former Enron CFO Andrew Fastow, Steve Eisman (the subject of the movie The Big Short), and many more interesting folks with unique perspectives.

You'll also have the chance to hear from and interact with all of Stansberry Research's editors, including me, income guru Dr. David "Doc" Eifrig, resource expert Matt Badiali, and value investor Dan Ferris, to name a few. A few of my good friends will be speaking, too... including collectibles legend Van Simmons and the fantastic Meb Faber (who always has something interesting up his sleeve).

I urge you to join me out in Vegas in September. It is my favorite event of the year. It's an amazing gathering of brilliant minds.

I'm certain you will come away with many great ideas – some of which could change your life.

The goal of DailyWealth is to deliver you ideas that can help you become a better investor and thinker... And I can't think of a better way for you to accomplish those goals than to join me at our event in September. It really is my favorite event of the year.

I hope to see you in Vegas in September!

Good investing,

Steve

THE COST OF BUYING INTO THE LATEST 'HOT' IDEAS

Today, we look at the steady decline in social-media company Twitter (TWTR)...

When it went public in November 2013, Twitter was one of the hottest stocks on the market. The free service allows its hundreds of millions of monthly active users to post 140-character messages on the Internet.

Shares quickly soared more than 180% as investors poured their money into the latest fad. But as it often does, the excitement wore off... and the company's business problems became apparent. Twitter has struggled to increase its active-user base. And it recently reported earnings that fell short of Wall Street estimates. Shares plunged on the news.

As you can see from the chart below, shares have been in a long-term downtrend, falling 80% from late 2013 to today. It's a classic example of why investors should learn how to avoid the "herd" like the plague...
